Still here
Hi all,
Well I'm still here. Today I read that my last post was October 2008. They say time flies when you're having fun. Well indeed the year passed like a canonball......
Nothing major to report.....
Cheers,
Jeroen

It's already October, it took a while for me to post, but hey...I'm still here.
Today is lazy Sunday. Some very good friends from Gouda came over to take a look at Lycka and to collect some nice mushrooms. We went to the Posbank to collect some. The specimen above you CANNOT eat. It is called Amanita muscaria, the Fly agaric mushroom.
We collected Bay bolete, Boletus (formerly Xerocomus) badius. On this page you can find a good link. After cleaning I dried and stored them for later use.
It was a very nice afternoon.....
That's all for now. Cheers!!

Remember I told you about our garden and the little Oak? If not, why don't you read some older posts of my blog. There should be a story about the little Oak.
Well another plant is growing in our (way too small) garden: a Blackberry plant! Today was harvesting time.I collected about 30 nice Blackberries which I later put in a blender to make some sort of jelly to put on my sandwich. I added some honey and put it on.....well not the greatest of taste but I'll manage.
Speaking of blackberry. Here in the Netherlands there are some regions where you better not pick them in the wild. This is because in those place there are foxes living which could be infected with Echinococcus multilocularis (a sort of parasite). Click on this link to read more about the so called (Dutch word) Vossenlintworm. A PDF will open from the RIVM.
Thanks for reading.

I guess all of you are familiar with Youtube.com....on it you can watch endless streams of (home) video's. There is a lot of crap on it, but also the occasional beauty....
Just recent I came across the video of the late Carl Sagan titled "Pale Blue Dot". This is a so called beauty.
The arrow is pointing to a pixel on the image. This pixel is planet Earth! This photo was taken by the Voyager 1 spacecraft in 1990 at a distance of 6.4 billion kilometers. More on this subject click here.
To watch the video click on the picture above and listen to the soft voice of Carl Sagan. His words touched my heart and soul. I hope it will do the same for you.
